Stories to Read

Today was a crazy, insane day the likes of which I cannot remember.  I wanted to remember it so I put some of favorite tweets below.  Here are also some articles for context.  Remember this is week 1 of the Trump presidency.  We have no idea how much worse this can get (actually, we do.  He pretty much spelled it out in his campaign speeches.  I guess we just didn’t take it seriously).

This one from the NY Times gives a brief overview of the vast, “unpresidented” amount of lies and the grand narrative Trump’s team is trying to spin.

For some economic stories I would consider reading about avocados and about why the world doesn’t necessarily need to wait on the U.S. to talk about trade.  I would also highly suggest this story about the parallels between the rise of Trump and the Governor of West Virginia.  All of these stories, in my estimation, show the complex world that we are living in and, consequently, they also show how limited Trump’s understanding of those forces are.

Here is an article on the effects of today’s Muslim ban, but the article is from this morning and there have been other developments since then.
