My name is Danny Kam. I am currently working on M.A. in Special Education at CSU Northridge. My research interests are reading comprehension for secondary students with learning disabilities. Specifically, I am interested in helping students learn to ask their own higher level questions as they read texts to help them uncover issues of bias in expository material. I am a firm believer that improvement in student achievement should be measured by the types of questions they ask in response to text and how they answer those questions (rather than traditional standardized tests). Specifically, I am interested in students gaining discipline-specific knowledge within the context of a liberal arts education.
I received my preliminary teaching credential in Social Science from the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2009 and finished my B.A. in Social Science at Azusa Pacific University a double minor in Biblical Studies and Youth Ministry. I currently attend All Saints Church in Pasadena. I am most interested in studying church history and how that history has shaped biblical interpretation over time.
The writings on this blog are my own and do not represent the institutions I attend or work at.
