Community of the Risen

..About me..

“Labels are things you put on people to judge them,” a pastor once said.

So don’t judge too quickly…lest you be judged yourself. =)

My name is Danny Kam. I am in my last year of study at Azusa Pacific University coming out with a degree in Social Science, with minors in Biblical Studies and Youth Ministry. I grew up in Santa Maria, CA in suburban sprawl. I spent the last summer of 2007 in Camden, NJ, the poorest city in our nation, doing work with UrbanPromise. Bruce Maine, an APU alum himself, began the organization about twenty years ago. He helps students succeed through after-school programs and a small school that he has begun. After spending the summer there, I have decided to dedicate my life to helping urban poor in our nation and abroad and to making sure the conditions that create such poverty are eradicated from this planet.

I work on another group-blog called Kingdom Conversations that I am trying to get off the ground. It is a site where we discuss the deep issues of the kingdom and how they best can be taken to the world around us. If anyone is interested in contributing to such a conversation, your thoughts are always welcome. Just shoot me an e-mail at dkam136@gmail.com.

I pray that the peace of Christ be with you this day and always.

Amen.

Yeah. Tony is a great guy! He came and spoke to us a few times while we there last summer. It is good to find someone who has also been blessed by that graet ministry.

Hi I read your comment on my blog, Total Depravity. For more of that details you can read books about Reformed Theology. You can also check on the sites of John Piper, Wyne Grudem, Michael Horton, Kim Riddlebarger. You can check on CRTA’s site also. I got my info’s from them. I never blogged about that. I hope to do something like that. But I need to have a study first, deeper study. You can always go back to the Scripture on the issue of total depravity, Eph. 1 for example. and many other passages that saying we are all dead in our trespasses… so, since we are all dead, how will we be able to have anything to do with our salvation… Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog… Honestly, I am just started blogging… :) Blessings to you my friend…

Thanks for your comment on my blog article today, “ARE WE GOOD?”

I’d love to show you that we CAN do more than just donate to Compassion International.

We DO have the poor among us, even here in Orange County. They are here. We may not “see” them, but they are here. 35,000 of them to be exact, and 80% of those are families with children who live in motels.

Our house church goes each month and passes out free groceries to the residents at a motel in Santa Ana. Let me know if you’d like to join us sometime.

    Blessings,
    Keith Giles
